(Rahaau) pause and reflect on this.

Gursikẖ har bolhu har gāvhu le gurmaṯ har japṇe.  Jo upḏes suṇe gur kerā so jan pāvai har sukẖ gẖaṇe. ||2||

O (gursikh) guru’s Sikhs/disciples, (bolhu = speak) recount virtues and commands of (har-i) the Almighty, and (gaavhu = sing) praise and emulate them; (japney) remembering (har-i) the Almighty (ley) taking (gurmat-i) the guru’s counsel/guidance.

One (jo) who (suney) listens to (updeys-u) teaching (keyra) of (gur) the guru – and complies – (so) that (jan) person (paavai) receives (ghaney) abundant (sukh) comforts, i.e. his/her wishes are fulfilled. 2.

Ḏẖan so vans ḏẖan so piṯā ḏẖan so māṯā jin jan jaṇe.  Jin sās girās ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā merā har har se sācẖī ḏargėh har jan baṇe. ||3||

(Dhann) blessed is (su) that lineage, (dhann-u) blessed is that (pitaa) father, blessed is that (maata) mother (jin) who (janey) gives birth to (jan = servant) a devotee of God.

Those (jan) devotees of (har-i) the Almighty (baney = befit) are accepted in (dargah) court of (saachi = true) of the Eternal, (jin) who (dhiaaiaa) pay attention to virtues and commands of (har-i har-i) the Almighty Master (meyra = my) of all (saas-i) with every breath and (giraas-i) with every morsel of food, i.e. all the time in every activity. 3.

Har har agam nām har ṯere vicẖ bẖagṯā har ḏẖarṇe.  Nānak jan pā▫i▫ā maṯ gurmaṯ jap har har pār pavṇe. ||4||3||7||

O (har-i har-i) Almighty Master, You are (agam) beyond reach/comprehension, You (dharney) place Your (naam) virtues and commands (vich-i) in the minds of (bhagta) the devotees.

(Jan-i) devotees (paaiaa) keep (gurmat-i) the guru’s counsel (mat-i) in mind; they (pavney) get to (paar-i) far shore, i.e. get across the world-ocean, (jap-i) by remembering and obeying (har-i har-i) the Almighty Master, says fourth Nanak. 4. 3. 7.
