Answer: When (har-i) the Almighty (aap-i) IT-self (meyl-i = causes to meet) leads to the guru, he (dikhaaey) shows presence of the Almighty by one who (samaani) remains absorbed, i.e. conducts the self (naam-i) by Naam (bachni = with words) with guidance of (gur) the guru.

(Slok) prologue (M: 4) by the fourth Guru. (Gurmukh-i) one who follows the guru has (saant-i) peace (antar-i) within; his/her (man-i) mind and (tan-i) body (samaaey) remain absorbed (naam-i) in Naam, i.e. s/he is conscious of Naam in thoughts and deeds.

S/he keeps Naam (chitvai) in mind, (parrai) reads (naamo) about Naam, and (rahai) remains (laaey = fixed, liv = attention) absorbed – conducts the self – (naam-i) by Naam.

When (pdaarath-u = substance) the valuable awareness of Naam (paaeeai) is obtained – one acts as one should and all (chinta) anxiety (gaee) goes (bilaaey) away.

Those (ratiaa) imbued (naamey) with Naam (palai paaey) receive/find (naamo) the Almighty within, says fourth Nanak. 2.

(Har-i = greening) the rejuvenating Naam of (har-i prabh) the Almighty Master is (ootam-u) sublime; its awareness is (leeta) obtained with the guru’s (bachan-i = word) guidance (sabhaagai) by good fortune.

(Sabho) all (dukh-u) pain and (daalada-u = poverty) misery (lah-i gaiaa) is removed/got rid of, (jaa-n) when the guru (deeta) gives awareness of (naau) Naam of (har-i) the Almighty.

Let us (sabh-i) all (seyvhu = serve) obey (mohano) the fascinating, (jagmohnai) enchanter of the world (jin-i) who (upaaey) created (jagat-u) the world and (keeta = made) keeps (sabho) everything (vas-i) under control of IT-self. 11.

Those (jin-i) who (dhiaaiaa) pay attention (hirdai) in mind – and live by Naam – (dinas-u) day and (raat-i) night; they (miley) find God, there is no (rol-u) doubt in this.

pauṛī. kōī gāvai kō suṇai kō uchari sunāvai. janam janam kī malu utarai man chindiā pāvai. āvaṇu jāṇā mēṭīai hari kē guṇ gāvai.

(Paurri) stanza by the fourth Guru. (Koee) anyone who (gaavai) sings virtues of the Almighty, (ko) anyone who (sunai) listens or (ko) anyone who (uchar-i = says, sunaavai = causes to hear) gives discourse on that;

(mal-u = dirt) the influence of wrong-doings (ki) of (janam janam) birth after birth, i.e. of past lives (utrai) is removed  and s/he (paavai) attains what is (chindia) wished by (man) the mind – to unite with the Creator.

One who (gaavai = sings) praises/emulates (gun) virtues (key) of (har-i) the Almighty, (meytteeai = erases) obviates being in cycles of (aavan-u = coming) births and (jaanaa = going) deaths.

S/he (aap-i) him/her-self (tarah-i = swims) gets across and (taraavai) ferries (sabh) the whole (kuttamb-u) family/associates across the world-ocean – of vices.

(Jan-u) humble fourth Nanak – the seeker – (balihaarnai = is sacrifice) adores (tis-u = that) the person (jo) who – acts by Naam and – (bhaavai) is liked/approved by (har-i prabh) the Almighty Master (meyrey = my) of all. 15. 1.

rāgu kānaṛā bāṇī nāmadēv jīu kī     ik‐ōṃkār satigur prasādi.

(Baani) Composition of (jeeo) revered Namdev in Raga Kaanrra.     Invoking the One all-pervasive Creator who may be known with the true guru’s grace.

aisō rām rāi antarajāmī. jaisē darapan māhi badan paravānī.੧. rahāu.

(Raaey = king) the Sovereign (raam) Almighty is present (antarjaami) is present with everyone (aiso) such; (jaisey) as (badan) face (parvaani = accepted) is seen (maah-i) in (darpan) a mirror – of one looking into it, i.e. look within and you will find the Almighty. 1.

(Rahaau) dwell on this and reflect.

basai ghaṭā ghaṭ līp n chhīpai. bandhan mukatā jātu n dīsai.੧.

The Almighty (basai) dwells with (ghattaa ghatt) everyone but is not (chheepai) stained with (leep) touch of vices in the world-play; God is (mukta) free from bonds to the world, but is not (deesai) seen (jaat-u) to go away from the world – to escape temptations in the world, as some people do, i.e. is ever present. 1.

pānī māhi dēkhu mukhu jaisā. nāmē kō suāmī  bīṭhalu aisā.੨.੧.

(Jaisa) like one (deykh-u) sees (mukh-u) face (maah-i) in clear (paani) water; (aisa) so is (beetthal-u) Almighty (suaami) Master (ko) of (naamey) Namdev – of all, is seen within when other ideas are given up. 2. 1.
