(Jeyta) whatever (biohaar = dealings, actions) rituals one performs (bina) without Divine virtues and commands in mind,
they are as (mithia= false) useless (jio) as (seegaar) adornment of (mirtak) a dead body – i.e. is only for display. 2.

that person even while (karto) performing (koti) millions of (karam) rituals (jaavai) goes (narak-i) in hell i.e. is put in cycles of reincarnation. 5.

But all of these (bina =without) except for living by Naam are (jhootthey) false (paasaara = expanse) shows. 7.

Har kā nām so▫ī jan le▫e. Kar kirpā Nānak jis ḏe▫e. ||8||10||

However, the creatures do nothing on their own. Only (soee) that (jan-u) person (ley-i = takes) follows the virtues and commands of (har-i) the Creator, (jis-u) whom the Creator (kar-i kirpa) kindly (dae) gives these, says Nanak. 8. 10.
